One Way Links – Raising Your Search Engine Ranking

In the SEO (search engine optimization) world, the one factor that affects your visibility the most is the number of links that point to your website. Google itself has stated that “quantity, quality, and relevance of links [to your website] count towards your rating.” In light of this statement, companies have popped up that allow webmasters to put links on many websites for a fee. This practice – known as one way linking – is shunned by many search engines, however, and may adversely affect your website’s rating. Additionally, the search algorithms give higher rankings to websites that have links from popular websites. (e.g. if a website was linked to from CNET or CNN, it would have a higher ranking than a site that was linked to from a blog or a less popular website)

Companies that sell “one way linking” services usually own many websites, allowing for large gains in a website’s rating if the service is bought. However, search engines are constantly trying to find these websites and make their search results more accurate. If a search engine detects that a site is part of a commercial “one way linking” service, it will disregard the website in its search results and punish any website whose link was there, lowering its rating. Therefore, it is a bad idea to use a commercial “one way linking” service to raise a website’s rank.

One way linking with legitimate websites is the best way to go for good website visibility. You can buy ads on other websites, ask other websites to post content from your website, and even form alliances with other websites and share links. There are services that allow websites to easily find other websites that have similar topics to share links with. It is important to have links from websites that are relevant to the content on your website.

You can also help others to build one way links and at the same time earn money. What we mean here is that you can sell links on your website or blog, which can bring aditional revenue and a cashflow from your online business.
